Workout
Warm-o-rama: Quick warm up with SSHs (IC), Arm Circle series (IC) and Imperial Walkers (IC). Then pax were instructed to put on their packs and head over to the OPRF track.
Thang: At the track, circle up on the west side of the soccer field to commence the ever popular 12 Days of Christmas beatdown. For those unfamiliar, the beatdown follows the pattern of the song, so in round 1, pax perform 1 rep of the exercise called. In round 2 pax perform 2 reps of the next exercise and repeat 1 rep of the first exercise. This pattern continues all the way through 12 exercises. Here is what was called…
- 1 Ruck across the soccer field
- 2 dozen squats (24 each round, 264 in total)
- 3 turkish get-ups
- 4 Elf on the shelf (each side)
- 5 Burpees please!
- 6 Kettle Bell Swings
- Hand Release Merkins
- Lunges (2=1)
- Curls (in cadence)
- Apollo Ono’s (2=1)
- Flutter Kicks (in cadence)
- Overhead Press
The group made it through the 11 set before heading back to the AO to complete most of the 12 set and time was called. Complaining was in full force based on the amount of rolling around in the snow that was necessary to complete these exercises and for how Santa needs strong legs to make it through Christmas eve. In all a good-time was had.
