Reflection on “Everything is Fucked”
Pain is constant, it’s how you manage suffering that makes the difference
“The Buddha said that suffering is like being shot by two arrows: the first is the physical arrow (the metal piercing your skin), the second is the mental pain, the narratives that we spin in our minds about whether we deserved or didn’t deserve to get shot. In many cases, the mental plain is worse and lasts longer than the physical pain. Meditation is simply training yourself to only be shot by 1 arrow.”
